A particle moves along a spiral described by the equation r=r(inital)+kappa*theta, where r(inital) and kappa are constants, and where theta is in radians. Assume that theta dot =alpha*time, where alpha= 0.15rad/s^2 and t is time expressed in seconds. If r=.25m and theta = 0 for t=0, determine kappa such that, for t=10s, the acceleration is completely in the radial direction. In addition, determine the value of the polar coordinates of the point for t=10s.

What is the current demand for water : Presently, benzene vapors are condensed in a heat exchanger using cooling water. The benzene (100 kmol/h) enters at 0.1013 MPa and 120°C, and exits at 0.1013 MPa and 50°C. Cooling water enters at 10°C and exits at 40°C. What is the current demand for..
Gadolinium metal undergoes polymorphic phase transformation : Gadolinium metal undergoes a polymorphic phase transformation from HCP to BCC upon heating at 1260oC. The lattice parameters for the HCP phase are a=0.3745 nm and c=1.18525 nm. The lattice parameter for the BCC phase is 0.4060 nm. Calculate the densi..
Determine the coefficient of thermal expansion : For integrated circuits, Al lines are commonly placed on Si to act as electrical conductors between different parts of the device. Assuming that the Al is deposited at a temperature of 300oC, determine the CTE (Coefficient of Thermal Expansion) misma..
Calculate its volume before and after heating : If a super alloy jet engine is heated so that its length in each direction expands by 1%, what is its percentage change in volume (assume it is roughly cubic)?
Determine the value of the polar coordinates : A particle moves along a spiral described by the equation r=r(inital)+kappa*theta, where r(inital) and kappa are constants, and where theta is in radians. Assume that theta dot =alpha*time, where alpha= 0.15rad/s^2 and t is time expressed in seconds.
Fraction of the total volume occupied by saturated vapor : A tank contains a two-phase liquid-vapor mixture of Refrigerant 22 at 10 bar. The mass of saturated liquid in the tank is 25 kg and the quality is 60%. Determine the volume of the tank, in m^3, and the fraction of the total volume occupied by saturat..
A piston-cylinder device with a set of stops initially : A piston-cylinder device with a set of stops initially contains 0.6kg of steam at 0.8MPa and 500°C. The location of the stops corresponds to 60percent of the initial volume. Now the steam is cooled. Determine the compression work of the final state ..
Pitot-tube equation to determine the actual wind speed : A meteorologist uses a pitot -static tube to measure the wind speed in a tornado. Based on the damage caused by the storm, the tornado is rated as EF5 on the enhanced Fujita Scale. This means that the wind speed is estimated to be in the range of 261..
Compression processes in piston-cylinder devices : During some actual expansion and compression processes in piston-cylinder devices, the gases have been observed to satisfy the relationship PVn= C, where n and C are constants. Calculate the work done when a gas expands from 350 kPa and 0.03 m3 to a ..
