Air as an ideal gas undergoes a Carnot power cycle. The temperature of the gas during the cycle varies between limits of 200°C and 27°C. The pressure of the gas during the cycle varies between limits of 5 bar and 0.8 bar. Assume a calorically perfect gas with k = 1.4.

a) Determine the pressure at the beginning and end of each isothermal process, in bar.

b) Determine the work and heat transfer per unit mass of air, in kJ/kg, for each process in the cycle.

c) Determine the thermal efficiency of the cycle.
