A series RC circuit is powered by a voltage supply of 120Vac and60Hz. The resistor has a resistance of 80W and capacitive reactanceis 60W.
(1) Sketch a schematic for this circuit
(2) Determine the capacitance of the capacitor
(3) Calculate Z, I, VR, VC,and the phase angle q between Vs (voltage supply) and Is (Currentfrom the supply).
(4) sketch the voltage vector diagram for Vs, Vc, andVR on a graph paper (or the grid-lined area on the nextpage).
(5) Determine the real power, reactive power, and apparent power of the circuit.
(6) Conduct a time-domain simulation of this circuit and verify the results obtained in the above steps (3) and (5).
