Consider a concentric tube heat exchanger with an area of 50 m2 operating under the following conditions:

Hot fluid Cold fluid
Heat capacity rate, kW/K 6 3
Inlet temperature, oC 60 30
Outlet temperature, oC - 54

a. Determine the outlet temperature of the hot fluid.
b. Is the heat exchanger operating in counterflow or parallel flow, or can't you tell from the available information?
c. Calculate the overall heat transfer coefficient.
