An uncharged 5.0 micro farad capacitor and a resistor are connected in sweries to a 12-V battery and an open switch to form a simple RC circuit. The switch is closed at t = 0 s. The time constant of the circuit is 4.0 s.

a) Determine the value of the Resistance R.

*Since the Time constant is = to RC I thought that 4 = R(5*10^-6), but we end up with a very large R. I'm guessing this route is wrong*

b) Determine the maximum charge on the capacitor.

c) What is the charge remaining on either plate after one time constant has elapsed.
