The two simply supported timber beams are mounted so that they just make contact at their midpoints when unloaded. Beam AB is 3 in. wide and 6 in. deep; beam CD is 2 in. wide and 10 in. deep. Determine the contact force between the beams when the 3000-lb load is applied at the crossover point.
