Some of the Drosophila you are working with have miniature wings. Suppose you perform the following three crosses to determine the heritance of the miniature wing phenotype:
A. Females from a true-breeding stock of normal winged flies are mated with males from a true-breeding stock of miniature winged flies. All of the F1 females all have normal wings. All of the F1 males have normal wings.
B. Flies from the F1 generation in Cross A above are allowed to interbreed. The F2 females all have normal wings. Half of the F2 males have normal wings, and half have miniature wings.
C. Females from a true-breeding stock of miniature winged flies are mated with males from a true-breeding stock of normal winged flies. All of the F1 females all have normal wings. All of the F1 males have miniature wings.
Provide an explanation for the complete set of results described above.
