Part 1 - Excursion Plan (Location & Layout)

Location context (about 150-200 words- this is not included in the 900-word count):

Name and description of the place (e.g., the name of the park, gallery, community garden).
Why it is safe and suitable for children (think of supervision, facilities, and age appropriateness (refer the Developmental Milestones Document).
Link to potential learning opportunities (nature, culture, physical play, numeracy, literacy, etc.)
5 original photos of the environment (caption each photo briefly to explain what the area is for, e.g., "Open grassy area for group play and exploration"; "Shaded area for rest/ relaxation"; "Museum exhibition area to explore animal habitats").
Note:

Remember that the photos must be taken by you for the purpose of this task only.
You do not have to link to theories or EYLF here
This section should focus on describing the setting and explaining why it is suitable for children.
Captions are typically concise and captivating; 1-2 sentences are sufficient.
The Part 1 word count is exclusive of the 900 word count of the assessment overall.

Part 2 - Planned Learning Experiences

For each learning experience (Experience #1, #2, #3), you should include:

Name of the Experience - A creative, clear title (e.g. "Architects of the Wild", "Minibeasts Adventurers").
Age Group - You may choose to keep all three experiences for the same age group (For example, Birth to 1, 1 to 2 years old, 2 to 3 years old and 3 to 5 years old) or design them for different age groups.
The Rubric does not give extra marks for variety or consistency - this is flexible
Choose what lets you show your strongest planning and EYLF/theory links
Select the approach that best highlights your strengths in planning and your ability to make meaningful connections to the EYLF and relevant theoretical frameworks.
Learning Objectives (approx. 60-70 words):

What children will learn (skills, knowledge, or dispositions).
Connect to children's development (social, cognitive, physical, etc) Example: For children to explore ....... For children to develop their .......
Resources (approx. 20-30 words):

List what is needed (e.g. magnifying glasses, picture book).
Keep it realistic for an excursion - only 1-2 portable items if any. Remember that you are planning an excursion with a group of young children, and transporting materials may be impractical
Implementation (approx. 120-150 words)

Step-by step outline of how you will run the experience (be concise)
Mention educators' role and intentional teaching strategies (asking open-ended questions, scaffolding, explaining, safety, etc).

Links to EYLF & Theories (approx. 70-80 words)

Identify EYLF outcomes, practices, or principles
Link to at least one theory (e.g. Vygotsky Socio-cultural theories, Piaget's developmental
theories, etc)

Photo of the planned learning experience (Only 1 photo per planned learning experience)

This must be your own original photo, showing a setup or demonstration of the experience. There should NOT be any children depicted in your photo. This photo is to demonstrate what children might be doing with the learning experience - think of the moment before children arrive at the learning experience area. What materials are there? Where will they sit/ assemble? What will children see?
The photo should clearly show:
The materials or provocations you plan to use.
How the environment is arranged (e.g. picnic mat for group Storytime, tray of leaves for sorting, magnifying glass setup).
Any key safety considerations (e.g. shaded area, materials placed securely).
The photo is evidence that the experience is realistic, safe and engaging as per the marking rubric.
The photo should depict a self-created learning experience - this does not mean taking a photo of an established piece of play equipment, such as a swing set or climbing frame
References

Minimum 6 academic references across the whole assignment
Include any unit content articles, peer-reviewed articles, and the EYLF (2022)
Use APA 7 for in-text citations and reference list.
