WELL-BEING PLAN ASSESSMENT
Overview - A well-being plan that supports inclusion, equity, social justice and diversity.
Learning outcome 1: Argue that all children have rights in terms of diversity, equity, and social justice
Learning outcome 2: Review early childhood policy regarding inclusion and diversity and its implication for curriculum across early childhood settings
Learning outcome 3: Design responsive curriculum based on teaching practices that support inclusion, equity, and diversity.
Choosing a Case Study: Select one child from the case studies provided, and build a Wellbeing Plan for them. Feel free to add details about the child's interests and strengths-this will make it easier to create strategies tailored to them. For instance, if you imagine the child likes water play, you could set up a water play activity to help them interact with other children who also enjoy it.
Setting Goals:
Short-term goals should be achievable within a few weeks, such as "Frederick to learn five sign language words in three weeks."
Long-term goals are broader and might take a few months, like "Frederick to develop ways to express and manage his emotions."

CASE STUDY - FREDERICK
Frederick was born Deaf but received a cochlear implant when he was 18 months old. He is now 3yrs old. Frederickuses some signs to express himself and although he is somewhat verbal in expression, he cannot hear responses from others due to background noise interfering with his sound reception. This means Frederick often plays by himself as he can not understand other children and they do not seem to make the effort to understand him.
In a short time of being in the setting, Frederick has become quite emotional and occasionally ‘lashes out'. His parents are hearing themselves and really want Frederick to ‘?t in' and have a ‘normal' early childhood experience.
