In the last few years, an issue many organisations have started to recognise as strategically important is employee experience, i.e., a holistic view of the employees' perceptions of their work, social, and organizational interactions and environment throughout their time with the organization. Recent research by McKinsey suggests that there are nine key elements that organizations need to get right (Emmett et al. 2021) .

This research also suggests that "people who report having a positive employee experience have 16 times the engagement level of employees with a negative experience, and that they are eight times more likely to want to stay at a company" (Emmett et al. 2021). As employee experience is closely related to organizational productivity, a positive employee experience is a win-win for both organizations and their employees alike.In this assignment, you will assume the imaginary role of an analytics consultant who has been hired by your client organisation's Chief People Officer to help them better understand the key drivers and indicators of employee experience. Your client hasasked you for two key deliverables. First, your client has requested a report with insights on how they can better predict and improve employee experience. Second, based on these findings, your client has also requested you to design an analytics dashboard prototype, which would provide the Chief People Officer and her team with relevant information.

You need to complete four key steps for this assignment:

Step 1: Choose your client organisation
You are free to choose any organisation you want to focus on for your assignment as your "client". You are strongly encouraged first to do some preliminary background research to determine how much information is publicly available about the organisation (particularly about its people strategy and HR practices). Step 2: Conduct the client analysis

As part of your client analysis, you should first establish a strong understanding of the organisation, their mission, and business strategy.

The company website, annual reports, and strategy documents could be a good place to start. News articles and case studies might also provide useful information.

Next, analyse your client's people strategy and workforce needs and identify the key enablers and key impediments to a positive employee experience for your client. Some of these might be organisation-specific, others might be common across the industry.

Therefore, complementing your organisation analysis with some industry research would be valuable.

Finally, from among the key enablers and challenges you have identified, please select three of each that based on your analysis are of highest relevance and importance for your client. Note down the justification for each of your choices (including supporting sources/references).

Step 3: Design the dashboard prototype

Your list of key enablers and challenges identified in the previous step should inform your choice and justification of the key metrics to be displayed in the dashboard. Then, consider and justify the rationale for how these metrics should be presented, based on the target stakeholder(s), their information needs, and general visualisation good practices. Also consider the data table(s) and columns that would be required to underpin the dashboard (e.g., some of your proposed metrics might be sourced from a single data column while others might be calculated based on several columns).

Finally, you should create a corresponding visual mock-up of a Tableau dashboard. The minimum expectation is that all individual graphs in your dashboard mock-up were created by you in Tableau. You can choose between three options (further guidance and tips will be provided in the seminars):
Create individual graphs in Tableau using the Superstore (or another) demo dataset. Take screenshots of these graphs. Then, use an image editing software to compile the graphs into a dashboard mock-up and to edit the data labels and to finetune to your context. (Minimum expectation)

Compile the entire dashboard mock-up in Tableau using the Superstore (or another) demo dataset. Take a screenshot of the dashboard. Then, use an image editing software to edit the data labels and finetune to your context.

Develop a working dashboard prototype by creating your own demo dataset and/or adapting an existing demo dataset. Take a screenshot of the dashboard to include in your report. (Not expected. This option is generally worth considering only if you are closely familiar with and/or have a special interest in Tableau.)

Step 4: Prepare and submit your report

Your final deliverable from this assignment is a report which must adhere to the Report requirements section below.

Report requirements
Your report should be in the format of a consulting report and of a standard suitable to be read by executive management, i.e., it should be logically structured, the sections well-integrated, written in clear and concise language free of grammatical and typographical errors, and professionally formatted (neat and consistent presentation and use of APA7-style references).

The maximum length of the report is 2,000 words, excluding genuine figures, bibliography s appendix. (Genuine figures include diagrams, photos and equivalent, e.g., your dashboard screenshots. Tables and/or text excerpts are not genuine figures, and must not be embedded as images in the report.)

Your report must contain the following sections:

Background
Briefly describe your client organisation and their mission. Analyse your client's people strategy and workforce needs (e.g., organisation size, structure, strategic roles, and skills, etc.) and how these enable the realisation of the client's mission.
Strategic analysis
Identify THREE key enablers and THREE key challenges related to employee experience for your client. Justify why these enablers and challenges are of particular importance for your client, considering your preceding background analysis.
Recommendations
Identify and justify the key people metrics that the client should track to stay informed about the issues identified in your strategic analysis. Describe the key data required to capture these metrics, including the data table(s) and columns required to capture or calculate each metric.
Dashboard prototype
Attach dashboard mock-up screens, following from your recommendations above. For each dashboard view, explain its purpose and justify the design rationale (including target stakeholder, choice of metrics presented in each view, and choice of chart/visualisation types).

References
Include full APA7-style bibliographic references to your supporting sources. You are expected to support your analysis with both academic (e.g., research on employee experience) and practitioner sources (e.g., your client's website, annual reports,
strategy documents, etc.).
