Preparation towards Assessment

In this tutorial, the activities will assist you in preparing and finalizing Assessment 3B.

Exercise 1
The screenshot below shows a website. Using the lecture material from the first half of the semester suggest possible changes to improve the design of this website. Provide motivation for each suggested change.

Exercise 2A:

Using the entire set of resources provided on vUWS (research articles on interaction guidelines in the zip file, video snippets, lecture slides, etc) or through your own independent search (Google Scholar and the like), please list 5 interaction/design/user-interface guidelines/conventions/heuristics that would apply to your research project and how you intend to design your user interface. Provide the source for each guideline/convention/heuristic. Remember advancing comprehension/understanding of the guidelines prior to drafting your wireframes is highly recommended.

Exercise 2B:
Using similar set of resources as in Exercise 1, summarize how interaction/design/user-interface guidelines/conventions/heuristics may differ across platforms (web, mobile, OS based, etc). Give examples.

Exercise 3: Begin work on Assessment 3B

On vUWS Learning Planner week 7 you have been provided an exemplar of how to frame the sections scenario description and design conceptualization for Assessment 3B. The Design Rationale sample was provided in the homework exercises from last week. Carefully read the provided samples and for any one scenario for your project complete the following (by basing your answer on the exemplars):

Exercise 3a): Scenario Description for that scenario

Exercise 3b): Scenario Representation (task analysis OR use case diagram/description OR storyboards) for that scenario

Exercise 3c): Design Conceptualization/Wireframe Description for that scenario

Exercise 3d): Sketch the wireframes (using templates provided after this page) for that scenario
