Suppose it is possible to determine the wear rate analytically, that is, by using formulas that establish the relation between temperatures and wear rate. However, the engineer is not sure how closely the analytical method estimates the experimental wear rate. He is considering using a range of temperatures of 600°C to 1,200°C with an increment of 50°C for comparison (600(50)1200°C). Design an experiment to compare analytically estimated wear rates with the experimental wear rates.
