Design a greenhouse experiment to test for intraspecific competition within a population of herbaceous plants. Specify the species of plant, the volume (or size of pot) and source of soil, the potentially limiting resource you will focus on (e.g., Tilman and Cowan [1989] studied competition for nitrogen) and how you will manipulate it, and the measures of plant performance you will make. Explain with examples.
