Design a circuit that takes as input, a single BCD digit and generates the 9s complement. Show truth tables, K-maps, and reduced equations. Eploit "don't cares" where possible.
The 9s complement of a BCD digit can be used similarly to the way ones and twos complements of binary numbers are used preform subtraction via addition. The 9s complement of a BCD digit is simply the BCD coded result of subtracting the digit from 9. This the 9s complement of the BCD digit for 0111 (7) is 0010 (9-7 = 2).
Consider points P(2,4,3) and Q(1,-5,2) in three dimensional space: Find the position of vectors r1 and r2 for P and Q in terms of unit vectors i,j,k Determine graphically and analytically the resultant of these position vectors Hint: resultant vector..
One step in decoding a simple code without knowing the coding scheme , involves counting the number of occurrences of each character. Then, knowing that the most common letter in English is "e" the letter that occurs most commonly
What is the maximum number of consecutive bits that are in error for a transmission through this channel if the data rate is 10Kbps? If the data rate is 11 Mbps?
Suppose that a voice signal normally occupies 30 kHz of bandwidth and has a signal-to-noise ratio of 20 dB. Spread-spectrum techniques are used to increase its bandwidth to 2 MHz. (a) What is the signal-to-noise ratio of the spread signal
Find the impulse response fpr the filter? How many nonzero terms does the impulse response contain?
a) show the truth table b) show an algebraic expression in sum of minterms fom. c) show a minimum sum of products expression d) show the minterms of the complement of each function in numeric form.
Assuming that only integer multiples of a unit bipolar transistor having IS = 3 x 10-16A can be placed in parallel, and only a single voltage source, VB, is available (Fig. 4.54), construct the required circuit with minimum number of unit transist..
The available circuit components are NMOS transistor, PMOS transistor, resistors, capacitors and inductors. Ideal sources can only be used to generate the supply voltage VDD & GND.
The Finite-Difference Time-Domain (FDTD) method is a computational electromagnetic technique for solving for the electric and magnetic fields in arbitrary spatial domains in the time domain
With the 1s complement scheme, how does the receiver detect errors? Is it possible that a one bit error will go undetected? How about a two bit error?
Find the input torque to the generator. If armature current and field current are kept constant, find the new value of the terminal voltage if the power factor is changed to 0.7 lagging.
A linear-phase FIR filter should be designed with the ideal magnitude response shown in Figure 1 which represents an narrow band-pass filter. The lower cutoff frequency, fL , is 2,000 Hz, and higher cutoff frequency, fH , is 3,600 Hz.
