After you identify your student and the specific disability, write a paper on the disability. Along with the description of the disability, write the behaviors elicited when a person has the disability. Specifically, write how your student behaves in school and at home. Write how the behavior may be hindering his/her academic as well as socio-emotional well being. Remember, as a school counselor, it is your job to get as much information about the student as possible. This may include interviewing parents, the pupil personnel team, school administrators, as well as teachers. You will be using this student's information throughout the semester, and ultimately your final project will involve this student. Make sure to cite as many references as you need to support your assertions, and research when writing about the specific disability.
