Client is a nonsmoker, and drinks three glasses of wine per week. Reports 83-year-old mother has a diagnosis of osteoporosis. Takes fluoxetine for depression. Does not take calcium or vitamin D supplements, and reports poor intake of calcium in diet. Describes an inactive lifestyle, spends most of spare time making crafts and sewing. Slight thoracic kyphosis is noted. Client lacks a waddling gait, with no bowing of the legs. Dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) scan to be done today.
