Case Study: to locate a good screening tool for the select health condition. Research screening tools by searching theUse a MeSH search in PubMed to find articles. Use the MeSH terms "Reproducibility of Results" AND "Mass Screening" AND your condition of interest. If you obtain a number of articles as a result, you may want to add your population of interest to the search. Ideally, you want to find a tool that has been tested r population of interest.
Question: As you know, a test has to be reliable before it can be used. See if you can find any reported reliability for the screening tool you selected. Look for reported inter-rater reliability, test-retest reliability, or a measure of internal consistency such as Cronbach's alpha. Describe the results of reliability testing.
Then check the tool's validity. Describe, whether the tool was tested against another tool, such as a gold standard. Or was it just reviewed by experts? Most importantly, locate a reference about the predictive validity of the screening test. Is it sensitive? A screening test should have high sensitivity.
