Review the following article from the American Society of Microbiology:

2. Then, summarize the major points of the article. Your summary should discuss the importance of the human microbiota, a discussion of some of the lifestyle factors that affect microbial diversity, and some of the ways in which we can recover microbiome diversity. Part II: Microbial infections of the gastrointestinal system are the second most common cause of illnesses in the United States. These infections can be caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi, or parasites.

Address the following criteria in your main response:

A. Choose one disease that is caused by a bacteria, virus, fungus, or parasite discussed in your textbook.

B. Describe the pathogen associated with the disease, how the pathogen leads to disease, and how it enters the body. Your discussion should also discuss the major signs and symptoms of the disease and the treatment for the infection.
