For this task you are to write a report detailing how you could implement and monitor WHS policies, procedures and programs to meet legislative requirements in a workplace. You report must include details on the following:

• How you would provide information to the work team about WHS policies and procedures
• How you would implement and monitor:
o participation arrangements for managing WHS
o organisational procedures for providing WHS training
o organisational procedures and legal requirements for identifying hazards and assessing and controlling risks
o organisational procedures for maintaining WHS records for the team

Part 2

For this task you must research each of the following topics, and complete a detailed report on your findings. The research topics are:
• Hazards and associated risks in the workplace
• Key provisions of relevant WHS acts, regulations and codes of practice that apply to the business
• Organisational policies and procedures relating to hazard management, fire, emergency, evacuation, incident investigation and reporting
• Relevance of consultation and participation as key mechanisms for improving WHS and culture

WHS legislative responsibilities, duties and obligations of managers, supervisors, persons conducting businesses or undertakings (PCBUs) or their officers, and workers in the workplace

TASK 2: CASE STUDY

For this assessment you will need to perform the following observation in a workplace or simulated environment.

Once you are ready you are going to need to:

• Provide information to the work team about WHS policies and procedures
• Implement and monitor participation arrangements for managing WHS
• implement and monitor organisational procedures for providing WHS training
• Implement and monitor organisational procedures and legal requirements for identifying hazards and assessing and controlling risks
• Implement and monitor organisational procedures for maintaining WHS records for the team

While you provide information to the work team about WHS policies and procedures you will be assessed on the following points:

• Your ability to accurately explain to the work team, relevant provisions of WHS Acts, regulations and codes of practice
• Your ability to provide information about the organisation's WHS policies, procedures and programs , and ensure it is readily accessible to and understandable by the work team
• Your ability to regularly provide and clearly explain to the work team, information about identified hazards and the outcomes of risk assessment and control

While you implement and monitor participation arrangements for managing WI-IS you will be assessed on the following points:

• Your ability to communicate to workplace parties the importance of effective consultation mechanisms in managing health and safety risks in the workplace
• Your ability to apply consultation procedures to facilitate participation of the work team in managing work area hazards
• Your ability to promptly deal with issues raised through consultation, according to organisational consultation procedures and WHS legislative and regulatory requirements
• Your ability to promptly record and communicate to the work team the outcomes of consultation over WHS issues

While you implement and monitor organisational procedures for providing WHS training you will be assessed on the following points:
• Your ability to identify WHS training needs according to organisational requirements, and WHS legislative and regulatory requirements
• Your ability to make arrangements to meet WHS training needs of team members in consultation with relevant individuals
• Your ability to provide workplace learning opportunities, and coaching and mentoring assistance, to facilitate team and individual achievement of identified WHS training needs
• Your ability to identify and report to management the costs associated with providing training for work team, for inclusion in financial and management plans

While you implement and monitor organisational procedures and legal requirements for identifying hazards and assessing and controlling risks you will be assessed on the following points:
• Your ability to identify and report on hazards in work area according to WHS policies and procedures, and WHS legislative and regulatory requirements
• Your ability to promptly action team member hazard reports according to organisational procedures and WHS legislative and regulatory requirements
• Your ability to implement procedures to control risks using the hierarchy of control, according to organisational and WHS legislative requirements
• Your ability to identify and report inadequacies in existing risk controls according to hierarchy of control and WHS legislative requirements
• Your ability to monitor outcomes of reports on inadequacies, where appropriate, to ensure a prompt organisational response

While you implement and monitor organisational procedures for maintaining WHS records for the team you will be assessed on the following points:
• Your ability to accurately complete and maintain WHS records of incidents of occupational injury and disease in work area, according to WI-IS policies, procedures and legislative requirements
• Your ability to use aggregate information and data from work area records to identify hazards and monitor risk control procedures in work area

When you have successfully finished this assessment you will need to hand in the assignment that you have completed.

After you have completed this activity you will have to hand it in with signed cover sheet at front to confirm it is your own assignment/ work.

• Determine development needs in the workplace (come up with an idea that you think will be beneficial in a workplace)
• Develop individuals and teams ( from your idea, implement the workplace activity)
• Monitor and evaluate workplace learning ( review at a later date to see if the changes you expected have been achieved)
This exercise must be presented in written form noting what your idea was, how you implemented it and how you monitored it including the outcome of the idea.

TASK 2: CASE STUDY
For this assessment you will need to perform the following tasks. These tasks will need to be completed and submitted in a professional, word processed, format. Each task
must be 1000 words minimum in length.
For this task you are to write a report detailing how you could promote innovation in a team environment. Your report must include details on the following:
• How you should create opportunities to maximise innovation within the team
• How you should organise and agree effective ways of working
• How you should support and guide colleagues
• How you should reflect on how the team is working

• Different roles that people may play within a team, how this impacts on the way a team works and what it might achieve
• Group dynamics in a team

Then discuss how you could support and guide colleagues including how you would:
• Model behaviour that supports innovation
• Seek external stimuli and ideas to feed into team activities
• Pro-actively share information, knowledge and experiences with other team members
• Challenge and test ideas within the team in a positive and collaborative way
