CASE: At the Ponce Girls Youth Institution, two 18-year-olds have a secret romance. One day while Officer Ríos was on duty and gave the preventive tour of the institution's playground, he noticed that the girls were kissing, he immediately separated them and placed them in different modules. Officer Ríos informs the institution's social worker who takes one of the parties to the treatment area to interview her.
After the interview, the two young women involved in the romance begin to argue, leading to physical aggression between them. The custodians quickly separate them and one of them complains that she has been the victim of institutional mistreatment by Officer Ronda. In order for the process to be carried out in accordance with Law 246 on Child Abuse, the Director of the Youth Institution calls the Police to file a complaint on the part of one of the young women. The institution was attended by Agte.Pastrana and referred the complaint to the Sexual Offenses Division to investigate the institutional mistreatment of which one of the parties was complaining.
