Question: Discussion Background During conception, every human begins as a tiny embryo. However, during the gestation period babies grow into their own individual form based on hereditary factors determined by genetics. What happens, though, when babies are born? What happens as they age? How does every person become so dramatically different than another? Although genetics and hereditary factors contribute to our looks and our abilities, our environmental factors play a key role in our human development and the way we deal with life. We begin learning immediately on our first day of life, but it's our parents, guardians, and/or caregivers that begin establishing our norms and expectations. Our lives are initially shaped by those that raise us.
