June, a 34-year-old divorced woman diagnosed with severe anorexia, is hospitalized. Her doctors think she may require to be placed on feeding tube soon to save her life. At first June agreed to feeding tube. Though, in the evening (before tube has been placed), she became combative, disoriented, and refused to have feeding tube placed. Her mother and father insisted that feeding tube be inserted despite her refusal to permit it. Her ex-husband wants to uphold June's decision. Hospital administrators seek risk management for legal counsel.
