Cai says:"Maybe my work sometimes is like the poppy flower. It's very beautiful, but yet because of circumstances it also represents a poison to society as well." Discuss Cai's metaphor and describe the connections between violence and beauty in his work.

A - The metaphor is kind of hard to grasp, maybe because he used the word poison. I think that a lot of things in nature can be unpredictable and sometimes dangerous...I guess I do understand his metaphor. Fire by itself can be beautiful but when it destroys a house or kills a family the beauty is gone. I think that is what he meant.
