Problem: Carpers Nursing Knowledge Patterns Critical Reflection

The critical reflection paper will be based on Carper's (1978) Ways of Knowing framework, as adapted by White (1992). The what, so what, now what format should be utilized. Specifically, the paper involves describing an experience in which the student was involved (what), analyzing the situation (so what) and applying it to nursing practice (now what). The student is expected to provide insight into the experience and integrate theory that supports appropriate professional responses to the situation. This paper should include critical reflection on the implications for nursing care and how this will influence the student's future practice. As part of the ‘now what', students should also reflect upon interprofessional collaboration (IPC) and included a few sentences as to how the nurse can collaborate with other disciplines to improve patient centered care in the topic area.
