Case Study: Reflect back on all you've learned in this topic,?such as measuring intelligence, test construction, categorization, reliability and validity, test bias, and cultural/social diversity. The evidence for gender, racial, and ethnic differences on intelligence tests has led many people to wonder if these tests are biased.

Have we developed tests of so-called "intelligence" that actually focus on skills/abilities that are not equally?valued by all groups of people, and then used the scores to discriminate against certain people? As you consider this issue and work through the assignment below, you'll soon recognize that this is a very challenging topic for psychologists. In fact, there are even different meanings of the term test bias, all of which impact how current intelligence tests are viewed. In this assignment, you will be asked to create a multimedia presentation in which you discuss a unique method of measuring intelligence. You have been told that you must determine this:? Who is the smartest person in the class? The audience for this is your instructor.

Question: Create a multimedia presentation (video or audio) in which you describe a unique method of measuring intelligence (the method does not need to be "online" or virtual; you can test your peers in any environment). Remember, you aren't ACTUALLY carrying out your test. Please adhere to the following guidelines and answer the following questions in preparation of your presentation:

  • Use any of the available, multimedia presentation software.
  • Integrate visual artifacts to enhance your presentation.
  • How did you come up with your unique method of measuring intelligence?
  • Describe the method. What is unique about your method?
  • Discuss the theoretical framework(s) that you based your unique method on.
  • What are the pros and cons of this new method of measuring intelligence?
  • How would you assess the effectiveness of your new method?
  • How would you address the issue of "test bias" in the context of your new method of measuring intelligence?
  • Make sure to support your presentation with key references related to the module.
