The ADH gene also has two primary alleles. One allele, A, codes for a form of the ADH enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of alcohol into acetaldehyde approximately 80 times faster than the form encoded by the a allele. AA individuals exhibit fast conversion, Aa individuals exhibit medium conversion, and aa individuals exhibit slow conversion of alcohol into acetaldehyde. In this question, we are interested in "conversion rate" as a trait. The possible phenotypes are fast, medium, and slow.
a. Does the ADH gene exhibit dominance, incomplete dominance, or codominance with respect to the alcohol conversion rate? Explain your answer.
b. Jasmine and Jake both exhibit a medium rate of conversion of alcohol into acetaldehyde. What proportion of their kids are expected to exhibit fast conversion, medium conversion, or slow conversion of alcohol? Show your work with a Punnett square and explain.
When the hairless progeny are backcrossed with a parental hairy fly, what phenotypic ratio would you expect to find among their live progeny?
In andelusian chickens, the color of the feathers is cocominant. The extremes are black and white with mixed alleles creating blue. If the chickens are dominant for a long spur and recessive for a short spur, what are the genotypes and phenotypes ..

How many net ATP are gained through glycolysis? (the pathway itself, not substances that will eventually go through the electron transport chain)?
Assume that investigators crossed a strain of flies carrying the dominant eye mutation Lobe on the second chromosome with a strain homozygous for the second chromosome recessive mutations smooth abdomen and straw body.
There are three main types of coat protein associated with transport vesicles. What is the general purpose of these coat proteins. and where would each of the three types be found in the exocytotic and endocytic pathways of the cell
Describe oxidative and non-oxidative branches of the pentose phosphate pathway and distinguish between these branches in terms of their roles in producing NADPH for biosynthesis reactions or 5-carbon sugar for mucleic acid synthesis.
You've discovered a new life form from a differentplanet, and you're studying how this organism translates its genetic code into proteins, Using an in vitro translation experiment, how can youdetermine the length of a codon
Enzymes use several types of catalytic mechanisms. differentiate between acid-base catalysis, covalent catalysis, and metal ion catalysis.
