Question: You may have already learned the equation for the power delivered by an electrical circuit: P = IV , where P is the power delivered (in watts = joules/second); I is the current (in amperes); and V is the voltage drop across the load, which is also equal to the voltage provided by the source. Derive this equation in terms of the rate of energy given to the electrons by the source (which must be equal to the rate at which electrons deliver energy to the load).
