Question: A 100-cm long aluminum bar, with perfectly insulated sides, has its ends kept at constant temperatures of 0 oC and 100 oC from start until steady state conditions are reached.

a. Derive an analytical expression for the temperature distribution along the length of the rod and for various time values.

b. Write a script using MATLAB® and plot the temperature distribution along the length of the rod for progressive time intervals. Using the plot approximately determine the maximum time after which steady state is reached.
