A cart moves with a constant speed of 0.30 m/s in the +x direction. A 2.3 kilogram brick is hung from a support on the cart with a spring constant of k = 20 N/m. The brick is pulled down 6 centimeter below the equilibrium point and released at t = 0. Derive an expression for the y position of a red dot painted on the center of the brick as a function of x and t. Suppose that x = 0 when t = 0. You may wish to call the equilibrium position y = 0.
