A tank originally contains 500 litres of fresh potable water. Brine containing 1 kg of salt for every 10 litres of brine is then added into the tank at a rate of 5 litres per minute. The brine solution leaves the tank through the outlet at 5 litres per minute. Derive a mathematical model that represents how much dissolved salt is in the tank as a function of time.

Assume the solution in the tank is always well-mixed. State what other assumptions are used.
