Assignment - Written Reflection
You will be required to submit a reflection that demonstrates your understanding of Person Centred Care and relates how the concepts covered in the unit content contribute to the development of your personal philosophy of nursing.
Purpose: Each student will submit a reflective piece of writing utilising Gibbs Reflective Cycle (1988). Each student will review and reflect upon the unit content to develop a reflection that describes the ways in which their future practice will be informed by the models presented in the unit content to enable the student to provide Person Centred Care. They will reflect upon their learning and understanding in the previous weeks to articulate a personal philosophy of nursing.
This assignment requires you to use the APA (American Psychological Association) 6th edition referencing system.
Length and/or format: 1200 words +/- 10%. Assessment criteria: The assessment will be marked using the criteria-based rubric (Appendix B). Please include the word count of your assignment on the front page of your assignment or in a header. Please note that in-text citations are included in the word count whilst the reference list is not included in the word count. Words that are more than 10% over the word count will not be considered.
REFERENCING - This unit requires you to use the APA (American Psychological Association) 6th edition referencing system. ACU POLICIES AND REGULATIONS - It is your responsibility to read and familiarise yourself with ACU policies and regulations, including regulations on examinations; review and appeals; acceptable use of IT facilities; and conduct and responsibilities. REFLECTION - Reflect upon your learning’s and understanding to develop a reflection which incorporates how your future practice will be informed by the theories, concepts, and strategies from the unit content. Response demonstrates an in-depth reflection on, and personalisation of, the theories, concepts, and strategies from the unit content. Viewpoints and interpretations are insightful. Gear, detailed examples are provided, as applicable. EVIDENCE AND PRACTICE - Response shows excellent evidence of synthesis of ideas presented, and insights gained throughout the entire unit. The implications of these insights for the respondent's overall practice are thoroughly detailed, as applicable. PHILOSOPHY: Student provides a personal philosophy of nursing that demonstrates understanding of how unit concepts of NRSG 138 are integrated to provide Person Centred care.
Student has provided: An excellent articulation of personal philosophy of nursing that demonstrates an excellent understanding of the link between the unit concepts and the delivery of Person Centred Care. ACADEMIC STYLE AND REFERENCING - Communicate information in relation to the question incorporating information literacy standards - Used appropriate professional language; correctly cited all sources both within the text and reference list: consistently and correctly used WA style; expressed ideas clearly, concisely and fluently with correct spelling and grammar; adhered to word limit.
