Assignment

Assignment: This is a group assignment. Each group will consist of two (2) students. Each group is required to identify a current controversy relating to accounting in Australia. Newspapers, magazines and academic journals accessed through library database and internet will be a valuable source of material. Students should then write a 1500 word essay which demonstrates their understanding of the issue, outlines the various arguments surrounding the issue and justifies their own position on the issue with reference to financial accounting concepts and theories.

Students should consult with the lecturer to confirm a relevant topic for the essay by the end of week 2.

Please note the lecturer will assist the students in selecting their topic for the assignment. However, it is expected that students should first come up with topics from a preliminary literature search. Students should finalize their group by week 2 and inform the lecturer in writing. The assignment is due in session 5.2 and must be submitted via Turnitin.
