Assessment Task Instructions:
The assessment instructions have been designed to enable you to understand what is required to succeed in this assignment.
The aim of this assessment task is to develop your skills in facilitating a discussion on the key content in this unit. Students may choose a topic from the weekly tutorial content during weeks 1, 2 or 3.
To be eligible for the full marks for this assessment (100) students will be required to:
Record a teaching session/presentation that encourages critical reflective discussion (e.g. questioning assumptions, examining power, linking past to present), includes an interactive activity (mentimeter or question asked - imagine you are in front of a real audience), and is designed to engage the audience in a critical conversation about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' health and wellbeing. Students may choose the audience, for example fellow students, general public, family, or staff members in a workplace.
Format and Structure:
Students will prepare the presentation using a maximum of five power point slides that outline the discussion points for the session, or the presentation.
Slide one (1) title slide, ID and introduction,
slide two & three (2 & 3) activity, teaching session
Slide four (4) reflective discussion
slide five (5) references
Students should introduce themselves and provide proof of identity of the presenter at the start of the presentation, presentation should include voice and image of student presenting to be eligible for maximum marks.
Record the presentation via a suitable media e.g. Teams OR Panopto OR PowerPoint and ensure the submission of the MP4 is correctly uploaded to the assignment portal.
Minimum 7 references, 7 years old or less, from a mixture of journal articles, books and credible websites (e.g. Australian Indigenous health info net). Your unit text is an edited book so reference the separate chapters that you use appropriately.
