Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship
Assessment - Entrepreneurial Start-up
Your task
Individually, you are required to record an 8-minute video in which you are to focus on an entrepreneurial start-up venture that your workshop facilitator will assign.
Assessment Description
In this individual assessment, students will be given an opportunity to analyse and critically evaluate a start-up in relation to its entrepreneurial nature, the persuasiveness of the entrepreneurial idea, and the nature and management of risk and external factors.
Assessment Instructions
Based on the assigned start-up, you must research and analyse the start-up venture with respect to the course content learned in weeks 1-3.
Based on this analysis, you are then required to record an 8-minute video using accompanying slides (10-12) to assist your presentation delivery and display your research/references. The slides should address the following questions:
What type of venture is it? How does it relate to the effectuation theory of entrepreneurship?
To what extent do the venture and its founder(s) demonstrate entrepreneurial traits and behaviours?
How persuasive is the entrepreneurial idea (problem/solution/value proposition)? Discuss with reference to course content and market evaluation.
What risks and external factors impact the venture, and how effectively has the venture managed these?
