Comprehensive Lab exercise is the culmination of your learned knowledge, skills and attitude that you have encompassed during this course. Your assignment is to use the CPT Coding Manual accurately and consistently in challenging coding situations. Each Coding Case should be completed by coding CPT, HCPCS Level I service and procedure coding, modifiers and HCPCS Level II introduced as procedure modifiers from this course. Your answer document must include the following:

1. Demonstrate accurate coding based on reading each coding case and assigning the correct code or codes and modifiers (if applicable).

2. Discuss in your own words how you decided to code each case, what lead you towards the section and subsection or heading and subheading in the CPT Coding Manual.

3. Explain the current coding regulation or established coding guideline that applied to each coding case.

4. Identify services and procedures within each of the coding cases.

5. Reflect on the importance of correct coding and the consequences of not following procedures.

DELIVERABLES

For each of the ten coding case studies you will provide a detailed description of your search. Each answer must have a defined follow up description that leads to the coding answer. What were the defined indications in the coding case that lead you to the answer? A typed paper that reflects correct coding, using the four required elements listed above, must be completed in a Word document. Use the following format:
