Whats a good reponse to this PV is an issue both men and women face. At its core, every person might experience some level of IPV on even a small scale. To state that men and women experience IPV at the same rate is very simple in nature. The biggest reason being that we only go off of research where victims are coming forward on their accounts. When in reality we know the vast majority of victims of IPV don't come forward in any charges or statistics so therefore the true statistics remain unknown. Another reason IPV can't be categorized by gender is that IPV in itself has many different descriptions and definitions across the board. To generalize what all researchers consider IPV is almost impossible, with such gray area of definitions simplifying actions across gender differences is very difficult. Also, if we are looking at studies with gender differences there are often different forms of victimization seen from women and men. If you try to compare different experiences than it is not analogous, it is two different subjects all together.
