A nurse in New York is allowed to provide nursing services under the laws if he or she is competent to deliver the services (Iglehart et al., 2013). A NY nurse practitioner is not allowed to provide nursing services in areas where she or he is not competent to perform, even if the New York law allows a nurse to offer the services.
