1) The British literary work that I chose was "The Mark on the Wall" by Virginia Woolf. I found that there was quite a bit of confusion within the piece. The point of concentration is the the mark, but she seems to occasionally veer away from what the mark is.In the beginning, it's hard to tell what she's getting at because she speaks briefly of the subject (the mark) and then expands on wondering thoughts that are manifested from her thought on the mark. I find this pleasant because it is, in fact, what we as humans tend to do. Besides, to read the back story oof each of these thoughts about the mark made it interesting.The confusing part was how she compares the mark on the wall to aspects of life. Some examples Woolf writes that confused me was, "The inaccuracy of thoughts! The ignorance of humanity! To show how very little control of our possessions we have - what an accidental affair this living after all our civilization..." She's trying to decipher what the mark on the wall in all this chaotic thinking. She seems to ramble on, but in a healthy manner. Woolf offers numerous reflections of herself and her ideas in comparison to others and to life itself.

2) For this last forum I think I would have to choose Eveline as a story that left me with a sense of confusion. Let me first start by saying I did enjoy reading it but I just don't understand why she chose to stay somewhere she didn't feel like she was loved. I mean if my dad scares me or if I thought he would hit me like he did the brothers I would have been out of there so fast and never look back. I just think it was her indecisiveness that had me confused because it was like if I could leave I would but when the opportunity came she didn't take it. Now she sits there looking outside the window thinking what would my life had been like if I had just left. Also she was a grown woman that had to sneak around with a guy because her dad didn't like him. I just think she didn't try to live for herself because she tried to please everyone around her. Overall I thought it was a good story but I think she could have stood up for herself more than what she did at least let her dad know how she really felt about him.
