Problem: Organization Behavior and Process Improvement
Problem Statement: Consider a CURRENT real-life issue/challenge you face in your work environment. Select problems that are contained to your department - avoid overly complex, large (i.e. health system), or controversial issues. This must be a problem that does not currently have a solution. Describe your problem so the reader can understand the context. You can use a bulleted list:
A. What is the issue/problem that occurs?
B. Define the department/location where problem occurs.
C. Specify the stakeholders who are involved.
D. Define a specific time period (e.g. last month, this week, from 0600-1200 hours) when this problem occurs or how frequently this problem occurs.
E. Identify a specific negative effect or consequence.
Background: Refer to B&P process ecosystem components, environmental factors, or organizational influences. Select 2 that are relevant for your problem and in 150-300 words professionally written consistent with expectations of a graduate-level student, define the component, factor, or influence, then describe a specific example of contributing components, factors, or influences that serve as the background of your problem.

B. Environmental factors (patients, regulatory, technological, market/competition, infrastructure, page 113)
C. Organizational influences (culture, structure, communication, facilities, page 113).

Based on your selected problem, which of the following tools would be relevant in illustrating the current condition, and why - Pareto chart, check sheet, scatter diagram, process map, or line/trend chart. Explain your choice in approximately 2 sentences. You are not required to use these tools.
Problem Analysis: Based on your selected problem, which of the following tools would be relevant in evaluating potential root causes, and why - 5 Why or Fishbone diagram. Explain your choice in approximately 2 sentences. You are not required to use these tools.
