C. Each group is assigned one class of psychotherarapeutic agents: typical antipsychotics , atypical antipsychotics, antimainics and central nervous system stimulants. Each group determines what baseline assessments should be completed for a patient being started on a drug in the assigned class. Baseline assessments should include nursing assessments, lab work, and diagnostic tests. State the rationale for all assessments.

3. a.interview a school nurse to determine the use of psychotherapeutic agents in the school setting. Specifically address what types of drugs are used for what conditions. Does the nurse feel these drugs are used appropriately, under used, or over used ?

(b) Select a patient in a clinical setting who is receiving a psychotherapeutic agent. Develop a teaching plan for the patient related to the prescribed medication.

4. Conduct an internet search to determine the incidence of attention - deficit disorders in school age children. Determine what percentage of school age children are treated with psychotherapeutic agents related to attention - deficit disorders. Based on your research , do you believe these drugs are overused , used appropriately , or under used is school - aged children?
