According to Dieter (2015) the death penalty cost is increasing as million dollars per capital punishment. For example, in 1988 the Miami Herald death penalty in Florida were $3.2 million per execution. The author suggest as for today Florida spends $51 million for a person who commits a first-degree murder (Dieter, 2015). The cost has rapidly increase throughout the years from 1976 to 200 it has been increasing $24 million (Dieter,2015). Last research study came up with the exact cost that is $137 million per years. The United States issue the fact that judges and public defenders get the same amount on their salary even if it's death penalty or other cases (Dieter, 2015). However, a study release that the extra time spend on the death penalty is not calculated. Dieter (2015) insists that death penalty takes double the time for one case and has caused the size and budgets to increase by making loss to the state. As Dieter (2015) explained his opinion about how death penalty has cause expense and time to the state and illustrate the fact that life sentence is better than death penalty.
