Please answer the following questions using a 3 section essay format (Intro, Body, Conclusion). You will need an introductory paragraph, supporting paragraphs (body), and a conclusion paragraph. The answer for each question should be double-spaced and a minimum of 2 pages in length. You will need to cite your sources, by including the source in parenthesis following the sentence ie. (class notes, textbook) and you will not need to use any sources outside of class material. Each question is worth 10 points. Please drop it in the dropbox.

1.) Gerontologists consider age to be a social construct. Please explain to me what a social construct is and provide 2 examples. How and why is age a social construct? How do the 4 "types" of aging (chronological, social. psychological, biological) discussed in class fit into this discussion.

2.) Please tell me the difference between a Micro theory and a Macro theory. discuss the 3 Theoretical Perspectives (Conflict, Functionalism, Interactionism) used by Gerontologists and explain each one. Give examples.

3.) Please define and make connections between stereotypes, discrimination, and prejudice. How do these relate to the elderly in particular? What are the different 'Types" of stereotypes? Provide examples.

4.) Please explain the importance of physical and mental well-being as we age. How does one "age well"? Please include a discussion on the individual and societal levels.

5.) Please discuss Ageism. What is it, what are some root causes, and what are the consequences of ageism for society and the individual?
