Assignment - Dashboard and Storybook development using Cognos Analytics
Activities
1. Using theanalysis derived from previous assignments, provide a brief description/summary of the datasets used and the results saved.
2. Highlight key findings. Use this information as a building block for competing assignment 4. Using the results from your previous assignments and/or new data sets develop at least two informative and insightful assembled displays.
3. Develop an insightful Dashboard. Complete and discuss a dashboard which shows insights gained from visualizations. Be creative!
4. Build at least one dynamic Storybook.Fill in with your own data set information and visualizations. Be sure to "tell the story" of the analysis with the storybook.
Using Cognos Analytics:
5. Assemble at lease one detailed and insightful dashboard.
a) Assemble informative visualizations into an insightful dashboard. You may includethe findings and insights gained from previous assignments or additional data set explorations.
b) Discuss key features of the dashboard and how they contribute to the understanding of or insights gained from the analysis.
c) Formulate at least one dynamic Storybook using Cognos Analytics. Discuss insights gained from Storybooks perspective.
d) Outline and discuss one specific area in your organization where the information and results from 4 would be useful. Discuss the value of this approach for your organization. What value and insights can be gained? What would be the resistance to this approach in your organization? What would be the advantages and disadvantages?

1) Title page (1 page limit): course number and term, assignment number and project title, student name and contact information, instructor's name. Format it so it looks pleasant and presentable. Follow formatting guidelines above.
2) Introduction. Provide a brief outline of the datasets you are using for this assignment. Briefly explain the content of the data, to include a description of the variables in the data sets, the number of cases, etc. Include a screenshot of the data (not all, but partial as far as all relevant variables are visible).
3) Dashboard presentation and discussion. Include screenshots and discussion of the dashboard. Include any insights gained from the dashboard. Discuss how the dashboard is useful in adding to the analytical analysis understanding.
4) Storybook presentation and analysis. Discuss how the dynamic storybook helps "tell the story".
5) Discussion of how dashboards and storybooks such as these could be useful in your organization. What pros and cons are there in this approach?
6) References (1 page limit): List all references in APA format used in preparing this report. It is strongly recommended to use outside knowledge in setting-up the analysis or discussing the results where possible.
7) Appendix (6 page limit): Include any appropriate workbooks, screenshots (figures, tables, diagrams) used in this assignment. Make sure all tables, figures, or diagrams are properly numbered and titled. Make sure all tables or figures or diagrams are easily readable and visually presentable.
