Sydney Olympic Park Renewal

Sydney Olympic Park is going through a renewal process, called Master Plan 2030. Read the details The 2030 plan is designed to accelerate growth, with 1.4 million square metres of new construction planned and a daily population of over 50,000 people, in addition to visitors and event patrons, projected. Around 31,500 jobs, 6,000 new dwellings to house approximately 14,000 residents, 5,000 students and major event capacity for up to 250,000 people are the proposed figures. These demographic metrics suggest that Sydney Olympic Park will be commercially comparable to Parramatta CBD as it is today.

Now consider this plan by the Sydney Olympic Park Authority as an Enterprise level initiative. Some of the key developments that as a part of master plan:

• 6,000 new dwellings to house approximately 14,000 residents and 5,000 students.
• Venue updating to provide event capacity for up to 250,000 people.
• Proposed Parramatta Light Rail connection between Sydney Olympic Park and Parramatta.
• Numerous mid-rise office buildings to accommodate commercial businesses.
• Updating Sydney Olympic Park parklands (originally known as Millennium Parklands).
• Cycling track initiatives in the park and its surroundings.
• A new high school.
• The park precinct will reduce its environmental footprint with a focus on maximising energy efficiency, recycling and waste management, water saving initiatives and climate resilience.
• The park will continue to operate throughout the renewal, with all current traders guaranteed a spots.

Your report and your presentation should aim to convince the Sydney Olympic Park Authority that they need to invest on Enterprise Architecture. Include examples and information that are specific to this context. The audience will be the CEO, the General Manager, and the Manager of IT Resources at Sydney Olympic Park Authority.
