What you need to do
Section 1 - Literature review and reflection on Emotional Intelligence
Project Managers work in increasingly complex project environments and need to bring more than technical skills to the role to be successful. Relationships need to be developed, teams need to be motivated, and change needs to be managed. If we can improve our ability to perceive the emotions of others, we can empathize and adjust our style to get a better outcome. If we can manage our emotions, we can be sure that the emotions we express are appropriate for the situation.
If we can use our emotions to improve our decision making, we can enhance our ability to solve problems. Finally, if we can enhance our ability to interpret emotional tone. we can build more effective relationships and influence the goals and outcomes of a project. In doing so, Project Managers can be more effective leaders, resulting in more successful project delivery.
