Information Systems in Business
Assessment - Analysis of Enterprise System
Assessment Type: Enterprise Systems Consultant Pitch and Justification Report
Task
For this assessment, you need to critically assess the enterprise information system case study provided to you. Your task is to create an individual Enterprise Systems (ES) consultant video pitch and a justification report by analysing enterprise systems and their business requirements using the Information Systems Development Methodology (SDLC). This process will allow you to understand the strategic role of enterprise systems in business operations and develop skills in critical thinking, professional communication, and business documentation. You will simulate the role of an external ES consultant advising a real-world organisation, applying requirement gathering techniques and system analysis to propose a future-ready solution.
The assessment is divided into two parts: Part 1 focuses on persuasive communication and should be presented as a professional video pitch, demonstrating your ability to clearly articulate your recommendations to business stakeholders. Part 2 requires a formal justification report that provides a structured and well-reasoned argument for why your recommended solution is the most suitable choice for the organisation.
Assessment Description
In this assessment, you will take on the role of an Enterprise Systems consultant tasked with solving a complex business challenge through the application of an enterprise resource planning solution.
Drawing on the principles of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and requirement gathering techniques, you will critically assess the case study and communicate your proposed solution through two components: an individual video pitch and a written justification report. This assessment is designed to test your ability to analyse enterprise systems, structure IS solutions using development methodologies and clearly document and communicate your recommended solution.
This assessment aims to achieve the following subject learning outcomes:
Learning outcome 1: Document and critically communicate the use of information systems in business using software development lifecycles and requirement gathering techniques.
Assessment Instructions
This assessment comprises two individual components:
Part 1: An individual ES consultant video pitch (8 minutes) based on a selected case study.
Part 2: An individual 800-word report that documents the justification for your recommended enterprise system solution.
Part 1 - Video Pitch
You must record a professional video presentation simulating the role of an Enterprise Systems consultant pitching a future-ready enterprise system solution to a business audience.
Your pitch should clearly define the business problem, apply the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) to structure your solution, and explain how you gathered and used stakeholder requirements.
Part 2 - Justification Report
Write a structured business report that focuses solely on providing a well-reasoned justification for the enterprise system solution you proposed in your video pitch. Get reliable and affordable assignment help today!
Your report must reflect high standards of business professionalism and communication. Visual clarity, concise expression, and critical analysis are essential.
Use of Generative AI (e.g. ChatGPT)
You may use GenAI tools to assist in brainstorming, refining ideas, or providing feedback, but must not be used to generate your full content or paraphrase large sections.
If you use GenAI, you must include an appendix in your report and a final slide in your pitch detailing how it was used (e.g., prompts entered and how you interpreted the output). This is required for academic transparency.
Record your presentation video:
Your presentation and slides must reflect high standards of business professionalism
Your face must be visible throughout the video recording
The sound quality must be good that your voice can be clearly heard
Ensure background noise and interruptions are minimal
Present your slides throughout the recording
Instead of reading notes or slides, talk to the camera

This report acts as a strategic and analytical follow-up to your presentation. Your task is to explain why your proposed solution is the most suitable for the organisation in the selected case study.
Your report should be structured around the following key elements, providing clear justification for why your recommended system is the best fit for the organisation. Your justification should address factors such as:
Strategic alignment with business goals
Business and operational suitability
Feasibility (e.g., resources, timeframe)
Long-term benefits (e.g., scalability, efficiency)
Industry relevance (with examples)
Risks or trade-offs, and how they can be mitigated.
