Assignment -
From our first day of class, the intention (and intensity) of this course has been to provide context for the ethical, social, and environmental circumstances we face today. As leaders, we are both observer and practitioner; we are challenged personally and professionally; we are source as well as reflection.
The paper should integrate and assimilate points of learning from the dialogue, readings, and assignments conducted in this course. This deliverable serves as your final exam and should reflect your best work.
1. Select an "issue" of your choice that focuses on "Ethics/Culture/Social Responsibility of your choice (must be approved in Week 6). This should be at the "Industry or, Country level as identified in the Transformational suite of maps. Hence your topic represents many diverse stakeholders and will require significant research to understand the forces influencing your issue. You will gain more and be better able to complete the assignment effectively by having intimate knowledge of the workings and nature of the topic if you divide your research efforts between team members.
2. Critically analyze an issue relevant to the country/industry your selected that is primarily ethical, social, and/or environmental. (Note: These are seldom mutually exclusive but the issue may at first be seen as one or the other). Examine and discuss this issue in light of course concepts, such as those listed above to explain why it is important for the focus of your interests.
3. Propose a leadership approach to this issue that embraces both the operational and innovation worlds for ultimate resolution.
4. Provide a detailed justification of your proposal on the basis of assumptions and perspectives embedded in: 1) the holarchy of systems (living system) perspective and 2) other perspectives from this course. Include a brief explanation of how this change will not result in merely a superficial effort but will result in transformational change in how the system operates.
Your 2-3 page paper (body only) (full APA Style) should include a minimum of 2-3 different citations/references to course readings and materials. Utilize the Transformational Map process to gain insights to key stakeholder issues impacting your research efforts. It may also include supplemental support from peer reviewed scholarly articles accessed from the SNHU Library databases (e.g., Business Source Complete), Harvard Business Review, MIT Sloan Management Review, and major newspapers such as The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and The Washington Post.
The presentation should cover 45min and then prepare for a 15min Q&A period for peers and faculty to ask clarifying questions and questions of personal interest on the topic.
