Critical Article Review

Reference: Gray A, Elbroune D., Dezateux C, King A, Quinn A, Gardner F and the United Kingdom Collaborative Hip Trial Group.  J Bone Joint Surgery Am 87: 2472-2479, 2005.

Review the article by Gray et al (2005) by addressing the following points.  Your answer should not exceed 1200 words.  Please type your answer.  

State the motivation for the paper.  In your discussion of the paper, identify the specific research question, the perspective, the audience, the time frame and analytic horizon, and use of the discount rate.  Discuss how the authors addressed outcomes.  Regarding costs, discuss what types of costs were included in the analysis.  Describe how the authors measured and valued the resource items they included as part of costs.  Summarize the findings. 

Comment on the authors’ presentation of the results.  Did the presentation reflect the needs of the audience, answer the specific research question?  Was the stated perspective reflected in the presentation?
