Adventure Works Business Requirements -
The following documents and Adventure Works example are from the Kimball Group website.
Part 1 -
Review these documents, choose four of the Requested Analyses from the AW_Analytic_Themes_List and create the necessary SQL query to support each of them. Provide a screenshot of each of the query results in a Word document and copy and paste the query text into the Word document, as well. If the AdventureworksDW2016 database does not have the information required, use the AdventureWorks2016 database.
Provide an explanation regarding which analysis you are providing (for each of the four) and also what data (tables and fields) you have selected and why. 15 points each (60 points possible)
You will be graded on query syntax and appropriate table/field selection for each analysis. I will be verifying that the SQL queries that you submit actually run without errors in Management Studio.
Know that this will be the first time for many of you to take business requirements and create supporting queries that provide the necessary data from a database. There are several Analyses that are fairly simple and straight-forward. It is fine if you choose these. For those of you that have more SQL query experience, this is your chance to try some of the more difficult options. As long as your queries run and the explanations for how the query(s) will support the requirement are reasonable, you will be awarded full points.
Part 2 -
Create Pivot Tables in Excel using the queries you created in Part 1 and then create at least one Excel Visualization to appropriately display the data from the pivot tables for the business users. Submit the pivot tables and visualizations in one or more Excel documents.
