Case Study: Cathryn is a 37 year-old single Mom who was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor. Her brain tumor causes headaches that are not controlled by medication, and she has had four seizures. Her tumor is operable, but the doctors at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America have decided to shrink the tumor with radiation first so they have a better chance of getting it all out. Cathryn is unable to drive, which has become a problem since her son is in school and plays baseball. Cathryn's Mom is just a couple of blocks away so she has been a huge help.
Prior to the cancer diagnosis Cathryn was diagnosed with several GI issues including Crohn's disease. The radiation has taken away
her desire to eat and she has lost 10 pounds since treatment began a month ago. Her surgery is two months away.
